Marley's First Rock Concert

Yep! That's right...we took our 4 and 1/2 month old to a rock concert last night. Now, no worries, we plugged up her ears nice and tight with bright orange, silicone ear plugs. Forgive me for the quality of pictures, they are from my phone...my camera battery died right before we walked out the door. Anyhow, she really seemed to have a good time...
Here she is at the beginning...Enjoying an ice cold cokeShe slept through half of the first set...proof that my child can sleep through anything!Hangin' out on Daddy's shoulders...the view is great from up here! Here's Gov't Mule on stage...quality not so hot cause of the phone camera but look how close we are!So she made it throught the first full set (which was a whopping hour and a half), through intermission and through about 3 songs in the 2nd set. We did leave early because she had decided she was ready for bed but that was good because then we missed the traffic leaving the venue. We've also decided that Innsbrook Afterhours is our new favorite concert venue and we will be attending most, if not all, of our concernts there from now on.
I will post pictures of solids later...she's now ventured from just rice cereal to peas...and believe it or not she seemed to like 'em...

Florida and Many Faces

I'm sorry it's been so long again since I've posted but we've been super busy! Last Sunday found us returning from a wonderful trip to Florida with Granddad to visit Marley's Great Grandma BeBe and Great Granddad Bob (as she later referred to them). She struggled a little bit with the flights on our way down...not quite sure what it was...but the way back she did beautifully, just like Indy. I'm sure that it helped that Granddad was clever enough to schedule our return flights during Marley's nap times :) Anyhow, it was such a great way to spend the weekend! Marley was doted on my not only her mommy and Granddad but her Great Grandparents too. Here are a few pics from the weekend...Marley also had her first dip in the pool while we were there. My grandparents have a screened in pool in their backyard and it was the temperature of bath water so it was a great jumping off point. She seemed to really enjoy it...even when I dunked her the first 2 times...numbers 3 and 4...well they weren't quite as enjoyable. I am a little concerned though because the way she was moving her feet may be an indicator that she's going to be a breaststroker and anyone who knows me knows that I was anything BUT a breaststroker, but maybe 4 months is to early to tell...one can hope :)Lots more has been goin' on around these parts. Marley's Granny and GiGi are here visiting from Texas (pics to come from their whole visit at a later date), Fancy, Granddad and Aunt Sarah came up on Saturday for a barbeque and Marley just started on solid foods tonight! The pictures of that are quite comical but I don't have them on my computer yet so I will post those soon as well. We had her 4 month doctor's appointment today and once again the doctor says she's "perfect." She weighed in at 14.7 lbs and measured 25.5 inches long. (I am a little skeptical on the length...she was wiggling around an awful lot and I think she's just a smidge longer). That has her in about the 60% for weight and 85% for height.
Without further ado I give you what you really want...(P.S.-Her shirt says "Mommy and I agree, Daddy's Charming)...The MANY faces of Marley... What a pretty dress...

More to come later...

Pictures Galore

Yep, that's right! My big girl has already been on a plane! Not as early as Cousin Kaley who came to visit when she was just six weeks old, but Marley took her first plane ride on Sunday. We went to Indiannapolis to visit Erin who was working there for Nationals and World Championship Trials. This was the closest Erin was going to be traveling to us this summer so we figured we needed to make the trip. I thought that flying to Indy would be easier than flying to California, especially with the way I fly to California, 3 plane changes with a 3.5 month old?...no thanks!
So, in addition to her first plane ride, Marley got to meet her "Aunt" Erin, visit the pool her mommy swam in for the 2000 Olympic Trials, watch various Olympic Swimmers compete, and stay in her first hotel and she did it all with a smile! I could not have asked for a better trip. Granted, on Monday she was a little cranky and yesterday after all that traveling she just didn't want to be put down, but she did awesome on all 4 flights and she was great when we were at the pool on Tuesday watching prelims. I was really amazed at how well she did on the plane. So many people commented on how wonderful she was and, as always, how cute she looked in her piggytails.

Here she is with "Aunt" Erin in the summer Taggies outfit Erin got for her

Here she is sleeping in the crib in the hotel...she rolled around a lot...which she often does on harder mattresses...so much so her feet were sticking out the side of the cribHere she is propped up in bed on the hotel pillows...she still blinks with the flashHere she is watching Olympian Ryan Lochte swim prelims of the 400 IM. So besides our trip to Indy we've been pretty busy around these parts. Last week we went to Williamsburg to visit because Aunt Chris and Uncle Mike were in town for the 4th of July. We were very lucky to have Aunt Chris come down in May and stay to watch Marley for a week while I was at work so they are old pals but Marley had yet to meet Uncle Mike. Mike is very special to me...here we are way back when...I think I was about 2 months old in this pic..And here is Mike with Marley at 3.5 months...

Me, Mike and Marley
Here is Marley hangin' out, cuddling with mommy, in Granddad's chair
For the 4th of July we went out with Mandy, Russ and their daughter Hayley to their friends house out in the country. It was a great day filled with lots of volleyball, softball, good food and friends. We didn't stay for the fireworks because Marley and I had to get on the plane the next morning and Brett had to get up well before the crack of dawn to get us to the airport but it was still a great day. Marley has yet to be in the pool this summer...I know...it's unbelievable...but here's Mandy dipping her feet in the pool. You would think there would be some sort of reaction but no, there was none. It was kind of like "Ok, so my feet are wet, big deal"
I know, I can't believe I didn't take more pictures of her in her cute 4th of July outfitS. Yes, plural. We always have to have a change of clothes and so I figured we could squeeze in all 3 during the day and sure enough we did...I'll have to play dress up at a later date and take pictures. I know it won't be the same but you'll get to see them none the less.

In other news Marley, mommy and Granddad are flying to Florida to visit Great-Grandma and Grandpa Lindberg next week. How about that? Two big trips in two weeks! I'm very excited that Marley will get to meet her Great-Grandparents and that's not all...Granny and GiGi (Great-Grandma Endicott) are coming to visit the last two weeks of July. So much to do so little time! And, the girl has her 4 month check-up on the 27th and we plan to get her ears peirced that day. We figure she won't remember, she won't have one done and then say she doesn't want the other one done, she will have already had the Tylenol and she'll likely be miserable anyway because of her shots. Don't worry, I've cleared it with the doctor and she's on board. She actually said the earlier you get them done the less chance they have of getting infected because she won't be playing with them with dirty fingers. As I said, we PLAN on getting them done...things may change (but I don't think they will).

So here are a few other random pics from the last couple of weeks...

Marley being a big girl and holding her own bottle...again with the flash...

Hangin' out in her Longhorn t-shirt The Pups
Exersaucer funJasper and Rosie aren't too sure about the car on the Exersaucer...they freak...Rosie runs away and Jasper tries to figure out where the noise is coming fromThis pic of Jasper just makes me laughMarley fell asleep at the dinner table last nightA Daddy and Marley moment
Or twoThink Brett is tired of having his picture taken?
The ones of Marley and her daddy and the rest of these are from the other day when I was just playing with the settings on my camera
I love this one...Brett says it looks like she's in jail...
So Marley's toes are the center of her universe right now so I figured they should be the center of a few pictures

Oh and I almost forgot to mention...Marley took 3, count 'em 3, hour and a half naps in her crib today...this is a first but hopefully we've rounded the corner with the being put down to nap...
