Marley's First Day at Little Gym

Today was Marley's first day at Little Gym! I wanted to do it with her last summer but she was too little and last semester we were just swamped. When my mom and sister went to see Cousin Evan for his birthday last weekend they were able to go with him to his Little Gym class and they both agreed that Marley would love it so we tried it today. Was there any doubt? This kid was meant for a place like this. I've been taking her to the Play Park at the mall and this was similar but on a much larger, more organized scale and she had a blast. There were only two other "Big Birds" there with us today because of the weather, both boys which she's used to, but there should be a total of 7 in her class starting next week. She was just as tall and even more mobile than the other two and she was the youngest by 3 months! I'm so proud of my Bird :)
Here are the pics, thanks so much Aunt Sarah for braving the blizzard and coming with us!
Tryin' out the balance beam
And the trampoline

She loved rolling this across the floor and rolling on it
These bar pictures are out of order as I'm sure you'll be able to tell but she did land safely as you can see, regardless of what her face may have looked like during the whole process. Her hands are too little to wrap around the bars but towards the end she was getting the hang of it!

Takin' a short break
I posted this one cause Aunt Sarah just loved it...even though it's blurry :)
With the rhythm sticks
Rockin' and Rollin'
She bangs the floor really well! The kid was running...actually running...and she froze when the tape told her too...it was amazing
Fascinated by the bubbles!
JUMP
This wasn't so much a new skill...she climbs the stairs at home all the time
A little Jazzercise anyone? Fancy? Can we entice you?
How about a forward roll? She was standing up on my bed this morning, with her legs spread wide, and she would bend over, put her hands down and put her head between her legs. It was as if she was practicing because she knew what she was going to be doing...then when we got there she actually got to do it...and she tried (unsuccessfully) to do it on her own a couple of times.
It was a great day at Little Gym! We look forward to having more friends at our next class!

More Marley

First for Amy, we had professional pictures of Marley taken in her Ramones t-shirt...check 'em out at http://www.colonialphotographyva.com/ click on "your portraits" and enter lindberg as the password. Scroll through and you'll see her decked out in jeans, the Ramones and her Adidas Superstars! We'll have more, taken by us, for you tomorrow.

Not a whole lot to update. Marley is still on antibiotics for her ear infection; she'll finish them up on Sunday. We talked to the ENT and they want to see her when the antibiotics are finished so we moved her post-op appointment up to next Wednesday so we'll see what they have to say then but she's also been pulling now on her left ear. I would love to say that between the tubes and the antibiotics she's already on that there couldn't be any possible way she has another ear infection but with her track record who knows...
Other than that we're just hanging out. Marley and Mommy have been going to the mall to play in the "park" when Daddy has class on Tuesday and Thursday nights and she really seems to be enjoying it. She especially loves to stand at the bottom of the slide and let all of the 2 year old boys crash into her. She also tries to climb up the slide from the bottom and is learning that if she holds onto the edge she'll be able to walk up better....OY VAY! Marley the daredevil!
Here are some pics of Little Miss the last couple of days
Her new favorite place to play is either in Rosie's crate or in her dog bed that's in our bedroom

Cute face huh?!
That's better
It's a two Taggie world she lives in (well technically four but who's counting?)
Cell Phone and Car Keys??!! Not for a few more years please and then maybe we'll talk
Awwww...come on mom...
What do you see Rosie?
That squirrel is driving us NUTS!
Story time with Daddy :)

And Marley starts Little Gym tomorrow so check back for more pics!

Marley's New Friend

See Marley's new, yellow giraffe?...
...She's been walking around with this new friend for the last 3 days... ...She really loves her new friend and has hardly put it down when she's at home...

...So we had to give a shout out thank you to the random woman in Macy's who bought it for her...
...Who we will likely never see again, but who could tell just how much Marley wanted this new friend...
Does this happen to anyone else? Do people you don't know buy ask to buy stuff for your kids? This is the second time someone we don't know has asked to buy something for Marley when we've been in a store...

90%

90% of kids who get tubes in their ears don't have an ear infection for the duration of the tubes... So how is it my kid falls in with the other 10%?

Catching Up...

"Oh My Gosh Mommy, I can't believe it's taken you so long!""I know baby, but what can I say, I've been busy!"
So here's the long awaited (by some, maybe not others) post. I know that I have fallen off the blogging planet lately and I apologize, but we have had a lot going on. I'll start with a few pictures left from our trip to Texas for Christmas. We had such a good time hanging out with family and seeing our friends and meeting our friends kids for the first time!
Here's a shot of all the snow that grounded us on Saturday. This was Sunday morning when we stopped off at the house to repack a few things before heading to Williamsburg to catch our flight out of Norfolk on Monday. As you can see...it was A LOT of snow. Marley got to wear her heavy winter jacket for the first time, which she has worn a lot since because it's been so cold, and she wasn't a big fan. She was like the kid in A Christmas Story but instead of falling backwards, she fell forwards, flat on her face. AND, we had to put a bucket in the snow for her to sit in because it was so deep and we didn't want her to get too wet. She was NOT a fan of the snow...The pond looks pretty when it's covered though. Here are a few from our actual visit that I liked and thought I would share..."MMMMMMM....corn on the cob!" (She also had shrimp that night)
Ummm...think she has enough blankets? The kid LOVES blankets! She'll pull 'em up over her head while she's sleeping. It kinda drives us nuts...

A rareity...
Playing with Uncle Lee...I think he was tickling her...and Rhys is in the background.Learning the drums with Pop
"I think I'm good at this"
"See how good I got Pop?!"
Some of the Men in her Life...
Again with Uncle Lee, sorry Lee, I didn't realize your eyes were closed :)
Daddy
Pop
Playing at the camp playground...in the rocks...
She did try to put them in her mouth...
Granny and Pop got this wagon for the girls without knowing that it's the exact wagon that Marley's Great Grandma Bebe and Great Granddad were getting Marley for Christmas. SHE LOVES IT! And she LOVES to go fast!
Group shot with Granny and Pop, Cousin Kaley, Cousin Jaelynn
More with Pop...she loves her PopThese are since we've gotten home. We've had a lot going on! We stayed in Williamsburg after our return flight so we could spend some time with cousin Evan, Uncle Christian and Aunt Natalie who were in from Arizona, as well as Fancy, Granddad and Aunt Sarah. I don't have any pictures from then because we were only there for a day but we did take Evan and Marley to Colonial Photography to have their pictures taken together. Check 'em out at www.colonialphotographyva.com if you click on "your pictures" the password is lindberg.
Then we had to come home for a couple of days so that we could go to the ENT and wait for Mommy's new bedroom furniture to be delivered and then back to Williamsburg on New Year's Day so that we could have dinner with the Lockhart/Porter family. Pictures of that to come as well.
So the ENT said she was the perfect candidate for ear tubes so we went ahead with the surgery just this Monday the 11th. She did have an ear infection in the left ear at the time so we're still doing ear drops but otherwise she is doing great. She had a little bit of a rash on her face, either from the gas or the mask, and she took a little while longer to get back to herself after the anesthesia but otherwise it was uneventful. She spent the day Tuesday with Fancy and then back to daycare on Wednesday. It's been our normal schedule since.
We have noticed some changes since the surgery though, mainly that she has MUCH better balance and the walking has TAKEN off but also that she "talks" A LOT more and she is VERY loud. It's as if she just now realized she has a voice because it's not echoing in her head anymore.
So yeah, the back of my child is what I usually see of her these days...either walking or crawling(at high speeds) away from me :)
She loves books!

And reading them upside down
She is eyeballin' Rosie on the ottoman in this picture, likely calculating how to get around the strategically placed ottoman to keep her from climbing up the step down (up) into the kitchen.
Happy as a clam at the dinner table"I don't want you to take my picture anymore Mommy!"

The next couple are long overdue being posted. I had these hats made for Marley by Barbara at Creative Dragonfly (see the link to her blog on the right) a while back. I was going to post but then we decided to have some made for Rhys, Kaley and Jaelynn for Christmas so I didn't want to ruin the surprise...but aren't they just too cute?

This child's hair is getting super long...in the front anyway...

Don't eat yellow snow

And Marley is now 10 Months Old!
