Moving

I know I haven't posted about the move...I think I'd just like to forget that it happened...it was stressful because I have way too much sh*t which, if we hadn't made a deal in which he wasn't allowed, Brett would have gladly moaned and groaned about I'm sure. Primarily because he had to go back. Yes, that's right...he had to go back to the house in Fredericksburg the weekend after we moved to get the rest of my sh*t. Have I mentioned lately how wonderful my husband is? I guess I will have to weed out...some more...
I was happy when he said this was the last move WE would do. Next time...it will be done by professionals and hopefully some major company paying for it...

But now a month later we are almost entirely unpacked. We had a lot of help from Brett's mom and grandma the first week we were here. While Brett and I unpacked and ran errands they kept Marley busy and explored the area for us a little bit. That's where we found out about Roaring River Falls (you know, all those pictures in my "Wordless Wednesday" post) and some of the better places to eat around here. Here are a few more pictures from their visit and from the move...
Marley helping me finish cleaning out in the old house. She was actually in the cabinet under the sink I just didn't get there in time to get that pic...
And more of the hike. These are really the only pictures I have from Granny and Gigi's visit. Granny had some others...I'll have to see about getting those from her!

This is the furnace on the hike that fashioned weapons in the pre-civil war era I think if we hadn't put it in storage she would still sit in her bouncer.

So...I still have to update about Marley's Little Gym Graduation, the beach, the River Festival we went to, Fancy and Aunt Sarah's visit, Marley's new playroom and some other odds and ends...I'm catching up...slowly but surely...

Not bad for the first try...

Need to make a couple of changes and starch the fabric but otherwise pretty cute...I'm gonna make these as hair clips! I'm loving it...

(Mostly) Wordless Wednesday: Where We Live

The first week we were here, when Granny and Gigi were visiting, they made me take a break from unpacking, before I had a mental breakdown (ok, maybe while I was having a mental breakdown) to go on a hike. We have definitely moved into the country, and while it's taking some getting used to, with everything being at least 20 minutes away (ok, the closest grocery store is 8 minutes, if you don't count Dollar General), walking through the woods on a hike and discovering all of this...

...doesn't make it too bad.
And what would a post on her blog be without a few pics of this cutie...she really, really enjoyed the hike; riding in the backpack and playing in the falls. She's an outdoorsy one she is...
More to come...

Still Alive

Hey Y'all! I know we've been awol for over a month but we are still alive! We're finally really starting to settle in to the new house and we're getting things together and organized.

I haven't been wanting to update because it's much easier to do it from the desktop computer and that wasn't working until right this very second (ok, maybe about 5 minutes ago including the time it took to turn on the computer, connect to the network and load the homepage). Plus, I've been busy, what with beach trips and unpacking and My Gym and getting to know the area. But, now that we're up and running I will be sure to update again...hopefully again tonight with pics. Until then maybe this will just wet your appetite (in case it wasn't already)...

This pic is from when we went and had Marley's pictures done for the portrait contest at Colonial Photography. I had my hair cut that morning and the girl who cuts my hair (and my mom's and my sister's), Emily, curled the pieces Marley has in front that are so long so that they would hopefully stay a bit curlier than usual. This is the same contest that we just found out not to long ago that she won last year. To check out this year's pics go to http://www.colonialphotographyva.com/ click on "your photos" in the bottom right and enter the password: mazurekcpc Then simply click on "a selection" from the drop down box and browse away. I would love your input because we need to pick three photos for the contest. I have my favorites but I would love to see what you think! Of course we think she's a shoe-in for this year's contest but we are biased :)

So it wasn't that much of a tease though right? Because I gave you a link to a whole lot more photos?...

More to come of Roanoke...
