Today was Marley's first day at Little Gym! I wanted to do it with her last summer but she was too little and last semester we were just swamped. When my mom and sister went to see Cousin Evan for his birthday last weekend they were able to go with him to his Little Gym class and they both agreed that Marley would love it so we tried it today. Was there any doubt? This kid was meant for a place like this. I've been taking her to the Play Park at the mall and this was similar but on a much larger, more organized scale and she had a blast. There were only two other "Big Birds" there with us today because of the weather, both boys which she's used to, but there should be a total of 7 in her class starting next week. She was just as tall and even more mobile than the other two and she was the youngest by 3 months! I'm so proud of my Bird :)
Here are the pics, thanks so much Aunt Sarah for braving the blizzard and coming with us!
Tryin' out the balance beam
And the trampoline
She loved rolling this across the floor and rolling on it
These bar pictures are out of order as I'm sure you'll be able to tell but she did land safely as you can see, regardless of what her face may have looked like during the whole process. Her hands are too little to wrap around the bars but towards the end she was getting the hang of it!
Takin' a short break
I posted this one cause Aunt Sarah just loved it...even though it's blurry :)
With the rhythm sticks
Rockin' and Rollin'
She bangs the floor really well! The kid was running...actually running...and she froze when the tape told her too...it was amazing
Fascinated by the bubbles!
JUMP
JUMP
This wasn't so much a new skill...she climbs the stairs at home all the time
A little Jazzercise anyone? Fancy? Can we entice you?
How about a forward roll? She was standing up on my bed this morning, with her legs spread wide, and she would bend over, put her hands down and put her head between her legs. It was as if she was practicing because she knew what she was going to be doing...then when we got there she actually got to do it...and she tried (unsuccessfully) to do it on her own a couple of times.

Yay! She is the perfect age to start Little Gym! I started Kaley at around 9 or 10 months but she was not nearly as mobile as Marley is now. She liked it when she could crawl around but LOVED it once she could walk and climb and do everything. Go Marley! Be careful of those little piggy tails when you are practicing your somersaults!
