Not a whole lot has been going on around here. Marley continues to grow and exert her independence. She's been sleeping in her crib whenever we don't need her room as the guest room and she continues to sleep long 9-12 hour stretches at night! We are so lucky to have a little sleeper...well I'm lucky...it doesn't wake Brett up when she cries. She has started to break out of the swaddle in the early morning hours and she rolls around like crazy. I often come in in the morning to find her laying on her side, completely turned around from the way I put her to bed with a hand pressed up against her face or an arm stretched out under her head...We also put together the Exersaucer that Aunt Dana, Uncle Randy, Madeline, Randy, Jordan, Cisco and Savannah got for Marley. I know the box says 4 months...and she just turned 3 months yesterday...but the kid needs entertainment and if we put a blanket in front of her to help her stand straight up she does really well! She loves to spin herself around and she bats at all of the objects in front of her. I think her favorite is the piano that sings when she presses the buttons. She's such a big girl!!
Every Super Hero needs Piggy Tails with plaid bows!So Aunt Sarah, Marley and I went to the semi-annual Occoquan Craft Show up in Woodbridge last weekend and I bought Marley some adorable bows with lady bugs on them, specifically for one particular dress. As I sat looking at these bows later that evening I thought to myself "Why am I spending money on what I could make?" I decided at that point that I was (most likely) only going to buy bows that were specifically made to match an outfit, such as the ones at Gymboree, and that I would MAKE bows to match the rest of Marley's outfits...and Kaley's...and Jaelynn's (if Auntie Em would like). So...without further ado...here are my first few bow and clippie attempts. I've made many more since these and they seem to get better as I go but I haven't taken pictures of them yet. I've also figured out how to make the "Korker" bows, the ones with all the spiral ribbon, I just haven't attempted it yet...Thanks Fancy for helping us get this project off the ground!
And yes, I am fully aware of the irony surrounding the fact that I have become bow obsessed and like to dress my daughter in dresses. I know, I know...

That is the same exersaucer that Kaley has and she loved it! I can't believe she is getting so big...3 months already!!! The bows look great!! Kaley was excited when I showed her the picture. I will have to look and see what outfits we don't have bows to match and place an order with Aunt Haney. Kaley is very proud of her Aunt for putting Marley in dresses and bows! She looks beautiful (not that she doesn't look beautiful in everything)!
