I know, I've fallen back to bad habits and haven't updated as I said I would. Well prior to the video post for my mom's birthday, I think the other post said I would update after Marley's cardiologist appointment. It went well. We had to follow up because at birth they detected an ASD (a hole in her heart in the upper chamber). This is a typical newborn finding however, her's was more stretched out than they typically see. The echo that we had done on the 23rd showed that she still has the hole but it has gotten smaller, YAY! She has also developed a heart murmer, the narrowing is between her heart and her lungs, but he feels that's likely because she has a small chest cavity right now since she's just a baby and he expects it will go away as she gets bigger. So, nothing to act on at this time, all good news, we go back in 6 months for another follow up. At that point he expects everything to be resolved.
Other than that we've had a few visitors. We went to the beach the weekend of the 24th and Uncle Lee's friend Ashley flew in to go with us! We had a great time and we were finally able to put Marley's feet in the sand. I don't have those pictures yet, I'm waiting to get them from Ashley, but as soon as I do I will post them. Here is Marley and her puppies the day after we got back. They were a bit tuckered out! Jasper actually went swimming in the ocean and for those of you who know our dogs, you know that they are usually quite terrified of the water so this was a BIG deal. Rosie got close to the water's edge on her own terms but wasn't quite brave enough to venture out and test her doggie paddling skills.
Then this past Friday afternoon my friend Amanda, the most AWESOMEST music teacher who I was blessed to work with at Montclair, happened to be in town and she came to visit me and Little Miss. She came bearing a large bag of clothes for Miss Marley! Thanks so much Amanda! We had a great visit and a great lunch :)
Then this weekend Uncle Lee came down from DC for his final visit :( before heading back to Texas tomorrow. We will miss you Uncle Lee! AND, we had a very special visitor, Brett's good friend Colin. He's out to sea a lot and more often in Texas or on the West Coast so it was a very special treat that he happened to be on the East Coast and was able to drive in to spend the weekend with us!

I thought this one was cute...it's as if she's saying "Don't you dare take another picture..."She wanted everyone to have a clear shot of the Piggy Tails...and I just think it's darling with her tounge hanging out! Here she is helping Daddy in the garage...She was posing in his tool box...Daddy has wrenches Marley's size!

Glad that the ASD is getting smaller! Harper had a heart murmur at birth and it resolved on it's own as well so I'm sure Marley's will too. She's getting so big!!
This post just made me even more excited to see my niece! Less than 3 weeks! She is already changing so much!
