"Oh My Gosh Mommy, I can't believe it's taken you so long!"
"I know baby, but what can I say, I've been busy!"
So here's the long awaited (by some, maybe not others) post. I know that I have fallen off the blogging planet lately and I apologize, but we have had a lot going on. I'll start with a few pictures left from our trip to Texas for Christmas. We had such a good time hanging out with family and seeing our friends and meeting our friends kids for the first time!
Here's a shot of all the snow that grounded us on Saturday. This was Sunday morning when we stopped off at the house to repack a few things before heading to Williamsburg to catch our flight out of Norfolk on Monday. As you can see...it was A LOT of snow. Marley got to wear her heavy winter jacket for the first time, which she has worn a lot since because it's been so cold, and she wasn't a big fan. She was like the kid in
A Christmas Story but instead of falling backwards, she fell forwards, flat on her face. AND, we had to put a bucket in the snow for her to sit in because it was so deep and we didn't want her to get too wet. She was NOT a fan of the snow...
The pond looks pretty when it's covered though.
Here are a few from our actual visit that I liked and thought I would share...
"MMMMMMM....corn on the cob!" (She also had shrimp that night)
Ummm...think she has enough blankets? The kid LOVES blankets! She'll pull 'em up over her head while she's sleeping. It kinda drives us nuts...
A rareity...
Playing with Uncle Lee...I think he was tickling her...and Rhys is in the background.
Learning the drums with Pop
"I think I'm good at this"
"See how good I got Pop?!"
Some of the Men in her Life...
Again with Uncle Lee, sorry Lee, I didn't realize your eyes were closed :)
Daddy
Pop
Playing at the camp playground...in the rocks...
She did try to put them in her mouth...
Granny and Pop got this wagon for the girls without knowing that it's the exact wagon that Marley's Great Grandma Bebe and Great Granddad were getting Marley for Christmas. SHE LOVES IT! And she LOVES to go fast!
Group shot with Granny and Pop, Cousin Kaley, Cousin Jaelynn
More with Pop...she loves her Pop
These are since we've gotten home. We've had a lot going on! We stayed in Williamsburg after our return flight so we could spend some time with cousin Evan, Uncle Christian and Aunt Natalie who were in from Arizona, as well as Fancy, Granddad and Aunt Sarah. I don't have any pictures from then because we were only there for a day but we did take Evan and Marley to Colonial Photography to have their pictures taken together. Check 'em out at

Then we had to come home for a couple of days so that we could go to the ENT and wait for Mommy's new bedroom furniture to be delivered and then back to Williamsburg on New Year's Day so that we could have dinner with the Lockhart/Porter family. Pictures of that to come as well.
So the ENT said she was the perfect candidate for ear tubes so we went ahead with the surgery just this Monday the 11th. She did have an ear infection in the left ear at the time so we're still doing ear drops but otherwise she is doing great. She had a little bit of a rash on her face, either from the gas or the mask, and she took a little while longer to get back to herself after the anesthesia but otherwise it was uneventful. She spent the day Tuesday with Fancy and then back to daycare on Wednesday. It's been our normal schedule since.
We have noticed some changes since the surgery though, mainly that she has MUCH better balance and the walking has TAKEN off but also that she "talks" A LOT more and she is VERY loud. It's as if she just now realized she has a voice because it's not echoing in her head anymore.
So yeah, the back of my child is what I usually see of her these days...either walking or crawling(at high speeds) away from me :)
She loves books!
And reading them upside down
She is eyeballin' Rosie on the ottoman in this picture, likely calculating how to get around the strategically placed ottoman to keep her from climbing up the step down (up) into the kitchen.
Happy as a clam at the dinner table
"I don't want you to take my picture anymore Mommy!"
This child's hair is getting super long...in the front anyway...
Don't eat yellow snow
And Marley is now 10 Months Old!
