Sorry, Sorry, Sorry...But I have Lots of Pics!!

I know, I've fallen back to bad habits and haven't updated as I said I would. Well prior to the video post for my mom's birthday, I think the other post said I would update after Marley's cardiologist appointment. It went well. We had to follow up because at birth they detected an ASD (a hole in her heart in the upper chamber). This is a typical newborn finding however, her's was more stretched out than they typically see. The echo that we had done on the 23rd showed that she still has the hole but it has gotten smaller, YAY! She has also developed a heart murmer, the narrowing is between her heart and her lungs, but he feels that's likely because she has a small chest cavity right now since she's just a baby and he expects it will go away as she gets bigger. So, nothing to act on at this time, all good news, we go back in 6 months for another follow up. At that point he expects everything to be resolved.

Other than that we've had a few visitors. We went to the beach the weekend of the 24th and Uncle Lee's friend Ashley flew in to go with us! We had a great time and we were finally able to put Marley's feet in the sand. I don't have those pictures yet, I'm waiting to get them from Ashley, but as soon as I do I will post them. Here is Marley and her puppies the day after we got back. They were a bit tuckered out! Jasper actually went swimming in the ocean and for those of you who know our dogs, you know that they are usually quite terrified of the water so this was a BIG deal. Rosie got close to the water's edge on her own terms but wasn't quite brave enough to venture out and test her doggie paddling skills.

Then this past Friday afternoon my friend Amanda, the most AWESOMEST music teacher who I was blessed to work with at Montclair, happened to be in town and she came to visit me and Little Miss. She came bearing a large bag of clothes for Miss Marley! Thanks so much Amanda! We had a great visit and a great lunch :)
Then this weekend Uncle Lee came down from DC for his final visit :( before heading back to Texas tomorrow. We will miss you Uncle Lee! AND, we had a very special visitor, Brett's good friend Colin. He's out to sea a lot and more often in Texas or on the West Coast so it was a very special treat that he happened to be on the East Coast and was able to drive in to spend the weekend with us!

Here are some other new pictures (that's all anyone really wants to see right?!) Oh and a couple of videos per Amanda's request. Enjoy!

Peaceful little Cowgirl in Piggy TailsThis isn't the video I thought it was but it will do for now
In the Bumbo
I thought this one was cute...it's as if she's saying "Don't you dare take another picture..."She wanted everyone to have a clear shot of the Piggy Tails...and I just think it's darling with her tounge hanging out!

Here she is helping Daddy in the garage...She was posing in his tool box...Daddy has wrenches Marley's size!

Marley talking...oh you've got to be kidding...I've stayed up late so this last video can load...and now it's gone...I'll try again later...

That's all for now...more to come...eventually...

Changes...

How about the new layout!! Thanks a ton to Marley's Auntie Em for making it for us! I am thrilled that we get to debut it tonight :)

There's been quite a bit going on around here. Aunt Amy came to visit Easter weekend. She's not much into pictures and refuses to ever look at the camera but I snapped one anyway.

And here she is sleeping in her Easter outfit. She's got a little Elvis lip curl goin' on.

Then Marley and I went to the beach with Fancy. I thought it would be a great way to spend her 1 month birthday. What a way to celebrate...with sand between her toes! Unfortunately it was WAY too cold to put her feet in the sand for the first time. We only went to the beach one out of the 3 days we were there and this is what she looked like...

I know, you can't even see her...but seriously people...it was COLD!!

Then Pop came to visit with Uncle Lee. I feel terrible for Pop...it was a weekend spent soothing a screaming Marley (we think she's having some gas and reflux issues). Put there were some tender moments. Here is Marley reading some books with her Mazurek Men...Uncle Lee seemed to disapear from the frame when the camera came out...Pop brought her The Poky Little Puppy (Brett, Auntie Em and Uncle Lee's favorite growing up) and Pat the Bunny to add to her extensive book collection. As Pop said, reading is in her genes!

Here's a calm moment with Pop...

And one other special moment...

Other than that we've just been hangin' out. Marley has started to play with us and it's quite fun! She has been playing under her activity gym and sitting in her Bumbo chair. She's responding to us all the time by smiling, "talking" and laughing and she's already rolling over from her tummy to her back (so much for tummy time). She will lay on her tummy for a little while and pick up her head but when she's done she rolls herself over! Unbelievable! She amazes me more and more everyday! Here are some pics...

Getting ready for one of our many outings

Chillin' with the Rosie girl

Nappin' with the Jasper Dog I've got some videos to post also but they'll come later. She had her 1 month appt with the pediatrician on Monday and all's great! She's grown 2 inches and gained a pound and a half, that makes her a whopping 23 inches long (97th%) and 9lbs. 15oz. (75th%). Fancy says she's built JUST like I was :) This means she's long and lean which is great but it also means that it's going to be a B***H trying to buy her pants as she gets older.
I think that's it for now...Little Miss is telling me she wants to eat...check back though in a day or two. She has her follow up appointment with the cardiologist, I've got tons more pics and of course the videos.
On a final note...look at the stellar pic Daddy took (with Mommy's BIG camera) of Mommy and Marley...and yes...I got what is often referred to as a "Sassy Mom Haircut" :)

YAY ME!!

So every year that my parents have been married my mom has made Easter Bread on Good Friday. Well for the last 3 years I've been making it on Good Friday as well, carrying on the tradition, but I've always been with my mom so I knew it would come out good. Well this year is the first year I've made it on my own and I only had to call my mommy once to ask her a question. I may be biased but it looks fantastic (we haven't cut into it yet so I don't know how it tastes)! Isn't it pretty??
It may be silly but I'm quite proud of myself!!

Too Stinkin' Cute

That title applies to Marley and her wardrobe...
To start the little bugger is hell bent on sucking her thumb. Now, I know I'm probably making a bigger deal out of this than needs to be but I have a student who is 7 years old and still sucks his thumb regularly. I also realize that he has Autism but the way I look at it, it's easier to take away a pacifier than a hand so we've really been trying to prevent this...None the less...

Sorry the video isn't of better quality...it came off my phone as did the next one...
Shortly after the video she did fall asleep.
We also went to see the Easter Bunny today...anyone who wants this pic lemme know...I got the CD so I can print as many as I want!
We went to lunch today with Colleen and Paige so we had to wear this outfit cause Colleen got it for her and because it's just "Too Stinkin' Cute." How funny is it that Paige showed up wearing pants in the same print?! We also had bow success today :)

Marley says "That's all for now...we gotta go cause Aunt Amy is almost here...we'll update again soon!"

A Little of This and A Little of That

So not a whole lot new to report. Marley is 3 weeks old (which means I'm only 5 weeks away from going back to work...oh so sad). Marley and I have gotten into a great routine at home over the last week...although it's one that I'm going to have to adjust once it is time to go back to work...thankfully I don't have to worry about that for a little while longer. We pretty much don't leave upstairs until around noon. Prior to that we're snoozin' or I'm trying to squeeze in a shower while she's snoozin'. Then we have some tummy time.
After that we run any errands that we may have, although this isn't very frequent, and otherwise just hang out watching a bit of TV or a movie. Occasionally I may try to get some picking up done around the house while she naps but usually I end up crashing myself...which is what everyone keeps telling me to do :)
Thought I would post a few new pics...ENJOY!
This is one of my favorite outfits that I got for Little Miss right before she was born. Unfortunately (well really fortunately) she continues to grow and she won't be able to wear it much longer so I had to make sure I got a picture...PLUS...just check out that hair!
Perfectly content after a diaper change...or was it before? I don't recall...

Snoozin' with her puppy
My first tummy time told in pictures...
"Okay, this isn't so bad...""I think I'm gonna try to lift my head..."
"Nah...I'd rather sleep!" I just thought this one was cute...It's like she's saying "Oh my, how did I get here? When I fell asleep someone was holding me...I think I might cry..."So everyday when Brett gets home from work Marley gets some Daddy time. This is usually how it goes...Check out the shoes...they're real leather (from Target mind you)!!Just another cute outfit that I thought I'd grab a shot of...though she should be in this one for a little while...it is a 0-3
So in addition to tummy time on the floor we've been working on her picking up her head in various other positions as well. She was sitting in my lap and started picking her head up so I thought I'd try to get it on video. I know it looks a lot like she may be flopping her head forward but rest assured, I had complete control of the situtation. Not the most exciting video but one to share none the less.

While there may not have been much exciting happening lately we do have some exciting things coming up! I might venture down to Williamsburg with Marley for the night tomorrow...there's a little something we may do with Fancy/GrandNan (by the way...no one voted on what she should be called...help us out here people...) on Tuesday afternoon but we aren't sure yet. We'll definitely keep you posted because I'm sure there will be quite a few fabulous photo ops if it happens. Then on Thursday Marley's Aunt Amy is flying in from San Antonio for a visit. (You might be thinking "no one has a sister named Amy" Well, Marley has quite a few "Aunts" that TECHNICALLY aren't Aunts...Amy and Erin to name two...so rest assured...you aren't going crazy) And Uncle Lee will be coming down for a couple of days while Aunt Amy is here. Then Easter Sunday we are headed to brunch with GrandDad, Fancy/GrandNan, Aunt Sarah, and Aunt Amy (and of course Daddy). AND THEN...Marley and I are going to ride back to Williamsburg with my parents so that my mom and I can leave for the beach on Monday (for Spring Break). AND THEN...Pop comes to town for a visit! All very exciting stuff...There will be more posts to come!

By the way...keep an eye on your mail...baby announcements went out yesterday!
